The region is serviced by a comprehensive medical structure boasting both public and private hospitals, along with numerous health agencies and day surgeries.

There are many general practitioners and specialists across the medical spectrum in fields such as neurology, gynecology, orthopedics, cardiology, obstetrics, pediatrics, ear, nose and throat, and radiology.

Albury-Wodonga has fine hospitals including three private and two public, with smaller hospitals existing in Tallangatta, Bright, Myrtleford, Mount Beauty and Beechworth.

The Murray Valley Private Hospital in Wodonga is home to many leading oncologists and offers treatment to cancer patients from the North East.

North East Health is located in Wangaratta, providing a regional healthcare system based around the Wangaratta District Base Hospital.

Aged and disability services cater for special needs such as aged care, adult activity support services, home-based and personal care. Maternal health care services support families with children aged zero to five years in a friendly environment. Immunisation services are also carried out with the Immuvan regularly visiting Wodonga and the Indigo and Towong shires.
